Manga: now leaving an internet near you.

We may not have the option of Manga Fox and OneManga much longer. Manga fox has taken down their series that have been licensed by Viz, and more cuts are on the way. (I don't know about OM, but it seems likely they will be taking similar action.)

On MF, here is the list of manga taken down thus far. (three links in the post, apparently being updated whenever another goes down.)

HERE is the reason. Basically, what it boils down to is that manga sales in the US have dropped 30% from 2007 to 2009, and the manga companies blame scanlation sites. This probably isn't news to many of you, but MF IS taking action.

Although, personally? I'd LIKE it if Viz would translate a liiiittle bit faster... (I"m looking at you, Pokémon adventures.) Since both Pokéspe and FMA are gone, I guess I'm going to have to go back to the bookstore more often now... Even if Viz IS waay behind in the first.

It's mainly a problem for us geeks because manga is an EXPENSIVE habit. (Manga: my antidrug. Because when you buy manga, you can't afford drugs.)

Nintendo! EEEE THREEEEE!

Basically, in my first post here, I'm pointing out that Nintendo has officially revealed their new portable system, the Nintendo 3DS. 3d top screen, touch panel bottom screen, 3d picture capability, the possibility of 3d movies for the new system! (they were hinting pretty hard during the press conference)

Also presented by Nintendo, a new Mario sports game, Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Kid Icarus: Uprising, a new Kirby game for the Wii, Metroid: Another M... and possible partnerships with just about every third party game developer that I recognized.

We're talking EA sports, Activision, Square Enix, Capcom, and.. oh geez... um, the makers of Resident Evil, and many many more. I wish I could remember all of the 3rd party developers they showed in the Press Conference.

Currently, Nintendo.com has a streaming broadcast of interviews through their website; Satoru Iwata is talking to the developer of the new Nintendogs and Cats game for the 3DS.

Said System has an updated version of the Mingle feature that TWEWY used, called the Tag feature. It can update game features through the internet while in sleep mode, dual cameras in the back to take 3d pictures, an analog pad/stick along with the d-pad, and did I mention the 3d can be adjusted so that the users eyes aren't strained?

Pokemon Generation V: New Region and Starters!

The new region set for Generation V is going to be called Isshu.

I like the designs for the two new trainers. They look like they're going to kick ass!

And most importantly, the starter Pokemon:

Tsutarja (Grass type) (Grass snake species)
Pokabu (Fire type) (Fire Pig species)
Mijumaru (Water type) (Sea Otter species)

Glad to see these new starters. More stories can be made out of the main characters of Pokemon now (the Starters). XD
